Turning Lives from Darkness to Light
Acts 26:18 (MSG) "...to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I'm sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me."
Because of your support we’re privileged to bring Christ to the prisoners.
Michael is a gentleman we met about three years ago in the Missouri Eastern Correction Center Pacific, MO.
He’s written this letter, we hope you enjoy.
Greetings and blessings. I am doing very well. Let me tell you how our God has been working in my life.
My very first day here I get put in a cell with a guy who had just given his life to the Lord. To flash ahead a week I spent the whole week pouring the love of God and how we aren’t under condemnation anymore into my cell mate
After being here for a week they moved me into a cell with a young man who is a new Christian. Who didn’t even know God had raised Jesus from the dead. In America!!! I couldn’t believe it. It’s lit a fire deep inside me. I’ve been witnessing like crazy. I’ve been telling people about Jesus. People that if I’d thought about it I’d say no way. One of the guys is a practicing homosexual and drug addict. God presented him before me. Then I heard the whisper. I’ve told my story of salvation three or four times in two weeks. Praise God He’s using me. He told me the whole time I was at Pacific I was in training. Now He says, “Now you’re in the field”.
I’m not going to lie, John, I use to sometimes do other things when you would lead those men in the sinners prayer. It just got so routine to me. I’m sorry. I now understand the importance of a man’s soul. You have taught me to be an evangelist. My favorite question is “If you die right now where will you go?” That and Love conquers all. If you have doubt, put love on it. I couldn’t say these things to you that last night I was there. I would of cried. I love you my brother.
Tell Diane – I learned from her I could overcome the pain of my past. I could forgive. I could love again. Most important I can praise my God with all my heart, soul, and mind, and strength.
Tell Tara – She taught me it’s ok to have a tender Spirit. It’s ok to show and feel emotions again. She also taught me to have a platonic relationship with someone of the opposite sex while loving them with my whole heart.
Mr. Bill taught me about relationships. How nothing on this earth is more important than taking time to love another human being. Love them right where they are. Be an example of Gods love to all. To go above the call. When you’re done, till you’re worn out, do more.
I learned from Joe – No matter what put a little Jesus on it. There is no problem to big for Him to fix. There’s not a situation He can’t overcome.
I just wanted you and the team to know. Every minute of every Wednesday night helped shape me into the man of God I have become. I’m doing my best with God’s help to pass on what has been so freely given to me. God is using me. If you feel worn down sometimes know that the work you do is of the most importance.
Tell everyone I’m doing abundantly well. Till next time.
God Bless,
Michael
